The location of this hotel is great. It was a 5 mins walk from Southwark tube station, its also opposite the Tate Modern meaning its a 5mins walk to the River. As soon as you walk in the downstairs area (The Social) is very clean and welcoming. Staff were very friendly, at check in and went we down for breakfast. The room was clean and spacious. Lots of information in the room regarding food/offers/how to use the heating system etc! We chose the continental breakfast in the morning and there was more than enough variety and lots of space to sit. Would definitely use this hotel again.
We arrived at 10am and left our details and suitcases. When we arrived back at 3.45pm our room still wasn't ready, which was pretty disappointing when we had booked well in advance. We had been walking for 5 hours and really wanted to relax. We were offered a complimentary drink, which was appreciated. When we got into the room approximately 4.20pm there was only one set of towels. We asked for another set and had to chase up, as they did not arrive. Overall, the room was very nice. Hotel staff were great and it is a good location for Borough Market and central London. The PI hairdryers have improved and I understand why you fix them to the wall.....but it's hard trying to dry your hair with a dryer that only reaches 2ft. We couldn't get the heating to work, so pretty chilly in the room. All in all, not bad for a budget hotel in London.
