I am utterly disgusted by my experience with PubLove and the way PubLove @ The Rose & Crown handled my booking.
I had previously stayed at their Euston Road branch, where the bathroom facilities were so filthy that I subsequently fell ill. It was a deeply unpleasant experience, and one that made me seriously question the hygiene standards across this hostel chain.
After that experience, and having read the disturbing reviews of The Rose & Crown, I contacted them to request cancellation of my upcoming booking. I explained my previous experience and why I no longer felt comfortable staying at another PubLove property.
Their response? A complete refusal to accommodate my request. To make matters worse, they then attempted to charge me for not showing up.
What kind of hospitality business treats its guests this way? I had already suffered through an unhygienic stay at one of their properties, and rather than showing the slightest understanding or concern, they appeared more interested in extracting money from me.
The entire experience has been appalling. The conditions I personally encountered at their Euston Road branch were unacceptable, and the customer service I received from The Rose & Crown was equally disgraceful.
Hospitality should mean providing guests with clean, safe accommodation and treating them with basic dignity. In my experience, PubLove failed spectacularly on both counts.
I would strongly advise prospective guests to read the reviews carefully before booking. Cheap accommodation should never mean compromising on basic hygiene, health, or human decency.
Never again. I am thoroughly disgusted.
