We stayed at this resort because the photos and concept looked absolutely beautiful, and the island itself is stunning. However, I wish I had known a few things before making such a long journey. The biggest issue was comfort. There is no air conditioning in the rooms, and there are large numbers of mosquitoes and tiny biting insects everywhere. It wasn’t just in the room—they were around the dining area as well, often landing on the food while we were eating. Another major disappointment was the internet. There is no Wi-Fi in the rooms, and the Wi-Fi in the main restaurant barely works. If you need to work remotely, respond to emails, or stay connected for any reason, you should not rely on it. The dining experience was also frustrating. There is only one restaurant, the menu is quite limited, and if you don’t arrive at the scheduled meal times, some dishes may no longer be available, leaving you with very few choices. There is virtually no entertainment. After around 7:00 pm, the resort becomes very quiet, with nothing happening. During our stay there was only one evening event, but it was poorly organized, with insufficient seating for guests. Overall, communication and organization throughout the resort were disappointing. Staff frequently delivered the wrong meals, information was inconsistent, and we often felt confused because nobody clearly explained what was happening or what to expect. One thing future guests should know is that many activities advertised by the resort are not actually operated by the resort. They simply connect you with local providers. For example, if you book a tour or a diving trip, you may be expected to pay the local operator directly in local cash. This was never explained to us in advance, and we had assumed we would be able to pay the resort by credit card. That information should be communicated before guests book activities. The resort is also very expensive.
